Tiger’s Newsletter September 2014

The children will be
joining in with weekly yoga sessions throughout September and October.

Parents – Reminder – Please do not arrive before the start of your child’s session at 8am or 1pm.  Can you please ensure you arrive in time to collect your child at the end of their session at 12noon, 1pm and 6pm, leaving time to do all you wish too, i.e. speak to your child’s keyworker, pay fees, etc … Thank you

Parents
We are planning an Autumn walk which parents are welcome to join us for on Wednesday 24th September in the morning from 10:30am-11:30am and in the afternoon from 2:30pm-3:30pm.  If you would like to join us, please speak to a member of staff in your child’s nursery room.
Parent Volunteers
As you will see from reading our Partnership with parent’s policy, we believe for a child to develop with confidence, it is vital to have a sound working partnership with the parents / carers. If you are interested in volunteering in your child’s room, please speak to our child’s room leader. You could read a story, help with art and craft activity or even help out with excursions.
Parents/Carers
A big welcome back to all returning children and we welcome all new children that are starting with us throughout this month. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to a member of staff in your child’s nursery room.

Please ask the staff at the end of your child’s session how they have been? And what have they been doing?

Reminders to Parents

Please do not bring into Nursery toys from home, money or jewellery.

Please help us by naming your child’s coat, outdoor and indoor shoes, hats, jumpers and cardigans.  This will prevent confusion and items being put on the wrong child’s peg.  We have some children with the same first name so please put the initial of your child’s surname.

Ensure you check and empty your child’s folder regularly, they contain letters for you and your child’s work which they would like to take home and share with you.

In the Cubs Room please bring in a sleeping bag or blanket for your child, if they are attending all day and will be having a rest / sleep time at nursery.

All children need a named apron for use during art & craft activities.  These can be purchased from Nursery at a cost of £3.00.

Parents,  please check the nappy / wipe board in the hallway and when your child’s name appears, please bring in new supplies.

Thank you

Mr David’s Message
Dear Parents and Carers,

Meaning everyone with returning children following school summer holidays – also all our new parent and carer friends who have enrolled children who start with us this month.

I do ask you all, please, to always read our monthly newsletters, they prove to be a great way of sharing with you our themed teaching plans, important notices of upcoming events as well as any changes to the administration or organisation of our very busy nursery. Also, please read every visit, the daily notices appearing on our white notice boards in nursery (By front Door and on staircase)

We enjoyed a great Open Day with many new parents joining us on August   20th, if you were unable to attend, please make sure you very quickly make contact with your child’s keyworker (they may have changed) – they certainly will have changed if ‘graduation’ to Tigers has occurred. If you are uncertain of the keyworker’s name, do ask at our Office, thank you.

Some further important and urgent requests – please ALWAYS close our main front door, should someone else have opened the door to you. I do not have to explain why – regretfully, it is common practice among parents for the door to be left open! Also, please fold away any buggy you wish to leave with us in our garage whilst your child is with us. We have little storage room which you are welcome to use – but, again, we are going to be very busy looking after many buggies. Please collapse them.

Teaching by our teams in both Cubs Room and Tigers, for children of all ages is always rigorously planned and must also comply with the National Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Many times, it is very important for this learning to be supported by families at home and we ask all of you for your help – all the way through the year – meaning – not just the first few weeks. The terms are broken into Themed Learning Activities – please ask us about the September Theme. When pictures, photographs or dressing up spectacular events are showing on our notice boards, please avoid disappointing your children – their faces look so sad when their friends arrive and have come prepared!

If you are uncertain regarding any of the content of the curriculum please ask your keyworker, the Room Leader in either room or anyone working from our main nursery office. Thank you.

We look forward with you to enjoying a happy and exciting start to the new nursery year.

Mr David
